About Stephanie

As a General Psychologist, I bring extensive experience from working in a busy Melbourne private practice supporting clients through a range of psychological difficulties and life challenges.

My approach centres on deeply understanding each client and their unique experiences. I genuinely love working with people and understanding what has shaped them. I believe many people lose trust in themselves over time through self-doubt, overthinking, and difficult life experiences. My work frequently focuses on helping people reconnect with themselves, quieten the inner critic, and move forward with greater confidence and self-trust.

I love helping people move from feeling stuck and overwhelmed to feeling freer, more present, more alive and more fully themselves.

A New Path

Hi, I’m Stephanie.

I have navigated significant transitions in my own life, including career and relationship changes, which have deepened my empathy and understanding of these experiences.

I commenced my career as a secondary school teacher before moving into a role as a Career Counsellor at a Melbourne university, where I supported students through career transitions for many years.

Throughout different stages of my life, therapy helped me to understand myself more deeply, trust myself more fully, and feel supported during difficult times. These experiences continue to shape the way I work with clients today.

I love combining my psychological training with an acknowledgment of the important role intuition can play in a person’s life. Often, self-doubt, overthinking, and the opinions of others can disconnect us from the still, small voice within. Learning to reconnect with and trust our intuition can bring authenticity, freedom, joy, and fulfilment.

Outside of work, I love dance, strolling through Melbourne’s gardens, and spending time with family and friends. I have also recently adopted my first puppy, Millie, who I’m hoping to train as a therapy dog.

Fun fact: Winter is my favourite season.

Common Qs and As:

  • I feel ashamed for needing psychological support. Does this mean there is something wrong with me?

Seeking support is a brave and proactive step. We all need help at different times and reaching out does not mean there is something wrong with you. Often, it is the first step toward healing.

  • How do I know if seeing a psychologist is right for me, and what if it doesn't work?"

It’s normal to feel unsure and wonder whether therapy will help. If what you’ve read resonates with you, it may be worth exploring. Sometimes people only need a few sessions to gain support, clarity, or a new perspective.

  • Asking for help as I go through this feels selfish. Surely I should be able to handle this on my own.

It’s natural to feel like you should manage things on your own, but asking for help isn’t selfish, it’s a sign of strength. Life transitions can feel overwhelming, and it can be helpful to speak openly with someone who’s objective and whose feelings you don’t need to worry about.
